!! Important !!
The Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act 2001
contains significant provisions which affect the
circumstances of persons who wish to obtain Irish
citizenship on foot of marriage to an Irish citizen or
through naturalization. These provisions came into
operation on 30 November 2002.
The changes which came into effect on that date mainly
affect you if you
-
marry an Irish citizen on or after that date, and intend to apply for Irish citizenship on foot of this marriage, or
-
think you are eligible to apply for a certificate of naturalization after that date
A non-national who married an Irish citizen on or after 30 November 2002, can only apply for citizenship through the naturalization process. Full details are set out in Citizenship information leaflet No 3.
Read more about this on the website of the Department of Justice.

Irish Immigration Service
Irish Immigration Consulting, Formed in 1998 with an objective to provide a first class professional service to multi-nationals, companies starting up in Ireland and individuals moving to Ireland.
For us it is too complex to keep up the official Irish information related to Immigration and naturalization. For this reason we always advise you to contact the Irish Department Of Justice. They are the only official source who can give you the exact latest information.
